Warping Springs:

There are three main reason to wrap your springs.

1. To protect you spring for outer damage.
Nicks in your springs are absolutely lethal for you springs and will shorten their lifespan. They will probably not break of in the middle but they will loose alot of their strength. New people tends to smash their stilts into each other. This is due to that they aren't used to walk/run/jump with them. It's crucial that during this period, have some protection around your springs. It's also a really good idea for more experienced people to protect their springs since you never know what might happened. As you we know, we fall alot.
A good way of protecting your springs will be to tape them with several layers of strong tape. Some uses a bike innertube but that requires you to dismantle your springs.
#Note: If you have Powerskips springs, you already have a good protection and don't need to do any more.

2. To extend the lifetime of you springs.
When you use your stilts, you "wear your springs down" and the will get weakened with every use. When you do this, little cracks will appear on your springs. The amount of these cracks have an impact of your springs strength and lifespan.
If you put something, e.g. tape or/and an innertube, you'll put a little pressure on the springs all around and thus, preventing those little cracks from appearing. They will eventually appear anyway, but this is a way to keep them away for a little while longer.
#Note: If you have Powerskips springs, you already have a good protection and don't need to do any more.

3. To decorate them and make them look good.
To decorate your springs in some way might add that little extra to it. The best way of doing this is to use coloured tape to make some kind of pattern. It might be hard to find nice, coloured tape, that at the same time is strong and can be used as protection. You should therefore first tape your protection and after that, tape you pattern/decoration. Decoration tends to wear down and getting dirty during usage. Be prepared to redo you decoration several times.
There alot of other ways to decorate them, it's only your imagination that sets the borders.
